This is a land of crystal clear turquoise waters that shine silver in the baking sun, mystical sunrises and rocky cliff faces that tumble red into the shores, painting the white sand with swirls of orange dust. A place where islands made of shells disappear with the tide and technicolour sunsets hang low on the horizon, just before night brings on its cloak of stars.

This magical place, edging on Western Australia's tip, could often be mistaken for Mars. Anchoring the storyline for Resort 2022. It is a land held in balance by its traditional Aboriginal custodians and elders, and a place of special significance for SIR. founders Nikki Campbell and Sophie Coote.

This is a story of coming home, finding it in the unlikeliest of places, and protecting it. It is also a moment of departure - born at a moment in time where the world was in confinement, the collection pushes forth with the feeling of wanting to reclaim our freedom.

Sometimes otherworldly, sometimes oddly normal – a makeshift shade tent with shadows cast by dancers outside recalls vivid memories of summers growing up or the magnetic appeal of a festival long ago. Balloons anchor in the sand like buoys shipwrecked in time and space, all the while painted canvases, sparklers and giant bonfires gleam with childlike - albeit much trippier - wonder. Fearless and unwavering in building their utopian fantasy, our characters often engage in child's play, finding pleasure and freedom in letting go of worldly expectations.

Whether in eye-popping colour or subtler black and white, the narrative snaps back and forth from rock and dust to sand and sea, distorted by a mirage of mind-bending mirrors, geometric sand swirls, explosive red casts or portals into the unknown.

The spirit of the SIR. sisterhood is ever-present as muse Charlee Fraser reprises her role, joined this time by Lili Sumner, Manahou Mackay and Abeny Nhial. Ever-changing hair and make-up put further emphasis on individuality and chameleonic nature.
And so, in coming home, the SIR. woman sheds her sweetest, more romantic guise. She has grown - bolder, more confident. Metal bras, body chains and G-strings decked in ringing bells highlight the cut-outs and exposed skin present throughout the collection.. Flashes of chilli red formed in knitted swimwear, dresses slashed open to reveal the body shock SIR's signature minimalist aesthetic into new heights, injecting a sense of fun and modern verve into the brand's fundamental shapes. Black silk and lace and slinky ribbed knits continue on this trajectory, moulding and contorting themselves to best complement the wearer's body. SIR's assertive foray into suiting continues with oversized open-back blazers, paired with ample trousers and best complemented by the collection's sheerest pieces.
Instilling lightness through colour, lemon yellow tones and vintage prints bring the collection full-circle. Clashing florals and polka dots offer boldness and playfulness, all the while a waving stripe print in polo-neck tops, scooped-out dresses or slimline flares to bring on a dash of '70s euphoria.
