The Senior Knitwear Designer will play an integral part in the Design Team and will be responsible to oversee processes related to knitwear design & creative planning. You will work collaboratively with our design assistant, product developers and creative directors to create unique collections using a ‘Sir’ lens.

  • Identify trends and research market at the start of the season, maintaining an in-depth understanding of the market, supplier base, competitors and customer requirements for all product within the business
  • Design, create and manage, from initial concept creation through to final PP for all knitwear, knitted swimwear and any required woven ranges
  • Ensure creative concepts for the season align with other categories and complement with other merchandise
  • Provide input and feedback on all knitwear developments with an emphasis on fit and finishing from proto stage to pre-production stage
  • Work with factory technicians and suppliers through every stage of development in order to develop accurate and high-quality knitwear samples
  • Work closely with the Directors and design to translate the vision
  • Assist in achieving sustainability goals with design & production
  • Assist throughout the whole production process
  • 5 years’ experience specialising in knitwear
  • Experience in working with offshore manufacturing and management of suppliers
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Highly proficient in Adobe creative suite and Excel
  • Experience in similar designer/developer role
  • Ability to foresee trends and align them with the SIR brand identity
  • Strong technical knowledge of fit and construction across knitwear
  • Exceptional collaboration skills
  • Experimental approach and high level of professional resilience
