SIR, is an Australian privately-owned company which designs and manufactures high-end women’s fashion. Clothing is sold online nationally and internationally as well as through a number of wholesale partners. We currently have 3 retail stores across Australia and plan to significantly increase the store footprint in the coming years. The office is located in Rosebery, Sydney.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The SIR Finance team is responsible for coordinating budgets and forecasts, cash flow management, payroll, business analysis and process efficiency. The team is also responsible for delivering accurate, timely and relevant financial and management reporting, and analysis and advice to support business decision making. As the Corporate Financial Accountant, you will play a critical role in the financial and management accounting duties, including month end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and coaching/reviewing the AR/AP Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Specific responsibilities of this position include:

  • Timely production of Month end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations including posting journal entries

  • Sales analysis for weekly trade update reports

  • Ensuring financial accounts are in compliance with AIFRS

  • Preparing a reconciliation of production payables to assist weekly/quarterly cashflow forecasts and ensuring the accurate accounting for all production costs

  • Coaching/reviewing AP/AR Officer including review of coding of payables and ensuring timely payments

  • Process improvements such as process mapping of areas which fall under the responsibility of the Finance Team

  • Preparation of the FBT Returns/monthly BAS/VAT statements

  • Ad hoc process improvement projects


    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • CA/CPA Qualified with 3yrs+ work experience, preferably as an accountant in either the Fashion Industry or one of the “Big 4” accounting firms

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills and a commitment to problem solving

  • Proficiency with using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

  • Solid internal/external stakeholder management skills

  • This candidate will have attention to detail and a “can do” attitude

  • Experience in Xero software (or similar accounting package) is essential
